THE NEW MINIS TRY.
a no confidwsce motion tabled. WELLINGTON, Last In the Mouse, this afternoon, Mr Hall announced the formation of the New Ministry, which is to be as follows : —Hall, Premier and ColonialS'-cretary ; tkinson, Treasurer and i Commissioner of Customs ; Rolleston, Minister of Immigration and Education; Olivor, Minister of Public Wor s, Lands, and Mines ; Bryce, Native Minister ; Hon. F. hitaker, AttorneyGeneral ; Tomoana, Native Colleague, Mr Macandrew immediately gave notice of a no -confidence motion. An impressed supply of £200 006 was passed. Mr Hall moved the adjournment till Tuesday. This Mr Macandrew opposed, insisting on Friday, which Vtr Hall on the advice of his friends finally accepted, and the House then adjourned ccordingly. Sir George Grey resigned the Leadership of the party during the morning, when the bringing on a vote of want-of-confifience was resolved on. The followiug supporters of the late motion have, it is understood, given in their adhesion to Mr Macandrew on condition of Sir George Grey's retirement, namely, Driver, Stewart, Pyko, Mc' 'aughan, and Dick, which would give a considerable majority against Mr Hall's Government. The Opposition propose to press for a division, without a lengthy debate. Mr Bryce resigned tlie Chairmanship of Native Affairs in committee. Mr Hamlin was elected. The statement that two Under Secretaries were to be proposed is uutrue (From Our Uwn Correspondent.) The New Ministry were sworn in to-day: — Hall, Premier and Colonial Secretary ; Oliver, Public Works ; Atkinson, Treasurer and Customs; Bryce, Native Minister; Whitaker, AttorneyGeneral; Rolleston, Laud*, Immigration and Education ; the portfolio of Justice and Post and Telograph, left open. In the House to-day, a sharp debate took place on a motion for adjournment. The Opposition took the unfair advantage of the absence of most members of the Government party to press for an immediate statement of policy, and it was finally agreed to adjourn only until Friday. Mr Macandrew gave notice that he would give notice o ? a motion of a peculiar character, which is understood to mean a motion of no-confidence. At a caucus of the Opposition, it was decided to throw over sir George Grey, who will not be alb wed a scat in auother Ivfinistry. Hence, the fact of Macandrew being seleeted to move the motion of want-of -confidence. Great speculation exists here as to how those returned on the Grey ticket reconcile the deposition of Sir George Grej' with thoir election plodgos. Reader vV'ood, who stated that he reoognised Sir George Grey as the Leader of tho Liboral Party, is considered as in a very awkward predicament, Macandrew, Reader Wood, Montgomery, Ballance, sheehan, Gisborno, Whitmore are mentioned a«i probable Ministers if the present Ministry are ousted. Ministers will at once brinar down the liberal measure;! desired by tho country, v strong feeling exists that this scramble for place is unseemly. (. II RISTC ITU P C U, Ti.p-jd »y. Yesterday aftormon throe of tho labor- ' £ang" frqm the Lyttelton gaol, while b'4'iQ
