Despite the miserable weather, there was a large aud representative muster of settlers from all ports of the district, at Ohaupo yesterday. The match was held m ouu of Mr J". S. Buoklaud's paddooks

Wallace, J. Bambnage and William Scott. Class 1, Douhle-fcteuow.— There were hve entries, but only four competed. J. McNicool, 1; J. W. Wallace, 2; A. Wai ace, 3. The ploughing of Mr McJNiccol was much commended, for both opening and general work. Class 2, Single-fubbow. — George Watt 1; Robt. Drabble, 2; George l l loyd, 3. There were five entries for the above class, but only three competed. Class 3, Boys.— George Kohleis, 1 : William FJpyd, 2. There were three entries, but only two broke ground. The work of George Kohleis was extraordinarly good. Best Team op 3 Hobses.— McNiccol, 1. Pair of Winkers, presented by Messrs Mornn, for the best team, McNiccol. Two pairs of Winkers, given by Mr Wiseman, for the best finish with the double -furrow, J. W. Wallace. Whip, given by Mr Jones (Saddler), for the best finish with single-furrow, George Watt. Double-reined Bridle, given by Mr G. D. Hunter (Saddler), of Te Awamutu, tor the best kept set of harness, George Watt. The show of roots, as we have said, was good. Best Potatoes.— William Scott, 1 ; McNiccol, 2. Best White Carrots.— McNiccol, 1 ; Ridler, 2. Best Red Cabrots.— Ryburn, 1 (a very fine sample). MiimoLDs.— J. Woods (Ohaupo), 1; McNiccol, 2. Sweede Turnips.— E. Parsons, 1 ; A. Wainwright, 2. Aberdeen Turnips. — Jas. Browne (Hamilton), 1 ; E. Parsons, 2. -A- large mushroom, shown by Mr Kohleis, attracted considerable attention. The whole affair went off very pleasantly, not a hitch occurring. Tho judsfes commended both the ploughing and the roots as really worth seeing. After the match was over the roots were sold by Mr J. S. Bucklaud, for the benefit of the funds, and fetched high prices.
