Part'mihtrs of Works performed under the direction of thu Trash-vis, for the i/cur ending J/inc/SQt/i, 1879. Forming roads and repairs to same, at a cost of £806 8s 2cl. This item includes the forming of about four miles of road, and the general repairs required on other roads m the district. Bridges and Culverts, Avith their approaches.— LS3O 18s 6d had been expended m the erection of eight bridges and ten culverts, and m executing the necessary repairs to the bridges previously erected m various parts of the district. Of the new bridges, two large bridges have been erected on the River Road, between Hamilton East and Ngaruawahia ; our. new bridge on the Piako Road, one, and this a very necessary but expensive bridge, has been built over the lagoon, at the approach to Taupiri Railway Station, and the other new bridge on the main road from Hamilton East to Taupiri. Metalling Roads (gravel or sand). — Nearly eleven miles of road have been niGtalled during the year, at a total cost of £1,057 33 3d. William C. Beeakell, Engineer K.D.PLB. Mr Pofctev moved, "That the report and statement of accounts submitted, be adopted." Mr Walsh seconded. — Carried unanimously. The Chairman requested the ratepayers to elect Trustees for the ensuing year, when the following gentlemen were proposed and seconded, and being only the number required, they were declared duly elected to office, namely, Messrs J B. Whyte, W. H. M. Lovell, Giliet, Walker, and A. Primrose. The Auditors proposed and elected were, Messrs J. Coates and J. Cochran. Messrs Win. Coleman and J. Ellison were appointed Fence Viewers. Mi- Potter asked the Chairman if he would be m order m asking what action the Board had taken, if any, with regard to the proposed Cambridge Branch Railway. The Chairman ruled that the question could not be put as irrelevant to the business of the meeting. Mr J. B. Whyte moved, and Mr Walker seconded a vote of thanks to the Chairman.— Carried. Mr Schwarbrick moved a vote of thank to the outgoing Board. Mr Harris seconded, and the raotiou was carried. This concluded the business.
