WAIPA COUNTY COUNCOL.

The ordinary meeting of the Council was then held, the same Councillors being present. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and conformed, after which, the correspondence written and received since the 9th of April, was read. HOSPITAL. A letter was received from the Chairman of the Raglan County Council, expressing the willingness of that body to co-operate with this council, and the Waikato and Hamilton Borough in establishing a hospital. The clerk was instructed to forward a copy of the letter to the Chairman of the Waikato Council.

MAP OP COUNTY

The Clerk having written to Mr Smith, of the Survey Office asking cost of a map of the County of Waipa, showing all roads, distances and bearings, railway, boundaries of the several Ridings, also all re serves, and for what purpose, a reply was received, stating that a " map on sufficiently large scale to show distance and bearings, would cost £SO or £6O; but that one on a scale of 40 chains to an inch, and giving all information asked, except the linkage and bearings, might be had for .£l2 or so.

A letter was also read from Mr Charles Palmer, offering to supply a, map of this stamp fot £l2 12s. On the motion of Mr HadSeld, the Clerk was instructed to notify to Mr Palmer that the Council would accept his offer. ALTERATION OP MEETING.

Cr. Cunningham in accordance with notice given at last meeting moved, " That in future this Council hold their meeting on the second Tuesday in each mouth at 10 o'clock a.m., instead of at 2 o'clock p.m. on the second Wednesday as at present." The motion was seconded by Cr. Steele. An attempt to alter the day was made some two or three months since, but Cr. Corboy having stated that he could not reach' Ohaupo in time for 10 o'clock meeting, and a later hour than that not being considered advisable on market day, the motion was abandoned, but the late alteration in the trains prevent] Cr. Corboy from coming and returning the same day, so the motion was carried unanimously.

COUNCIL CHAMBER.

The Building Committee reported that Mr Stephen Taylor has signed the contract for erection of Council Chamber and that Mr Cooper of Pukerimu had been appointed to superintend the building of same. On the motion of Cr. Sioane the report was adopted, and Cr Hadfield moved that the Committee be empowered to get the ground fenced in with posts and wire.
