PIAKO RACES.

These were largely attsnded by the setlers, and there were a number of natives present from all parts of the district. The racea were well and fairly contested, and the arrangements made by the stewards contributed largely towards making the affair the undoubted success it was. The creature comforts of the visitors were amply provided for at the well-known hostelry of Mr John Wood, the .Nottingham Castle Hotel.
