INDEPENDENT ORDER OF FREE TEMPLARS.
SESSIONAL MEETING. The third annual session of the Grand Lodge, Independent Order of Free Templars, \v»s held in tho Hamilton Hall on Wednesday, January 1. Many members of the Order were present, including MiGeorge Warburton,. G.W.C.T., with several of the Grand Lodge officers from Auckland. The first session commenced at 3.30 p.m. The Lodge was opened in due form by the Graud Worthy Chief Templar. Amongst tho many notices of motion adopted, we notice the following — "That all members o-:' any 'Gnperance organisation be admitted as members of this Free Templar Order without taking our obligation, on signing the Constitution." The following officers were then elected for the ensuing year :— Bro. ■•• G. Warburlon, G. YV.O.T. ; Bro. John Knox, G.W. Cjuur.; Bro. J. G. Jackson, G.W.V.T ;Bro, James Cox, G.W.S.; Bro. Wm. L. Neddiie, G.W.T.; Sister 0. Cox, Lf.W.C. ; Sister Eliza Neddiie, G.W.M. ; Sister Lucy Roffey, G.D.M. ; Sister Ellen Freeman, G.A.S. ; Sister E. Smith, P.G.W.C.T.; Sister Eliza Rogers, G.S. ; SUter Frauces Ella Rofley, G.G. THE BALL. The Lodge adjourned at 0.30 p.m., after which a ball was held in the Hamilton Hall, commencing at 9 o'clock, given by tli9 members of the Order and their friends, on the occasion of the Grand Lodge session being held in this district. It was a decided success, aud dancing was kept up with great spirit un f il thft small hours of the morning. Mr James Coombs officiating as M.C. The Grand Lodge reassembled in the Victoria Hall, Hamilton, ou Thursday, the 2nd Jan. The instillation of officers was then proceeded with, and tin annual committOßS appointed. Tho next Grand Lodge session iy to be keli iu Auckland. A hearty vote of appreciation vyus accorded to the officers aud members of the Morning Star Lodge, and also to the inhabitants of Hamilton generally, for the kindness and hospitality exteuded to fclje visitors during the Cfraud Lpdge session. The third annual sessigu of the Grand Lodge was then closed wif/h the usual Geremonies of tlie Graud Dodge degree, at 1 2, noon.
