HAMILTON EAST SPORTS..
The day was fine, and there was a good attendance at the East Hamilton Sports, on boxing day. The competitors was mostly local men. Fagan, of Auckland, being the only outsider who gave anxiety. Owing to the excellence of the arrangements made by the committee, and their personal exertions m carrying them out, everything passed off most satisfactorily. The sports commenced at 10 a.m. sharp. A protest was lodged against Farrell, which was entertained, leaving Allen Ist, and Cassidy 2nd. 2 Boya under 10 years, entranoe 18. lat prize. 15s ; 2nd prize, sa. Jones, 1 ; Pearson, 2. 3 Running Hop Step and Jump, entrance ls. Prize £L Hankins, 1 4 Half-mila Handicap, entrance 2s Gd ; lat priza t2 ; 2ad prize £1 Fagan, 1 ; Hyde, 2 5 Bjys' Race, under 12. Piggy wa« too much for East Hamilton, and it was a case of no catchee, no havee. As piggy has declined to return to his residence, any enc finding him, will please hand him over to the Scrap Committee.
