RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Hamilton, Juxe 10, 1878. (Before W. N. Searancke, Esq.,E.M.) DRUNKENNESS. Philip Brady pleaded guilty to the above offence. Sergeant McGovern said the prisoner was convicted on the 23rd of April last for a like offence. Fined 10s and costs ; m default, 48.J*rars\ Martin Brown pleaded guilty lo a similar charge. Sergeant McGovern said this was the prisoner's fourth offence, bat, notwithstanding, the police refrained from charging him under the Vagrant Act. The prisoner had a wife and family, and when sober was hardworking* and industrious. Fined, 20s and costs ; m default, the usual alternative. The prisoner asked for lime to pay the tine. Sergeant McGovern ' said he thought the prisoner might be trusted for 24 hoa vs. His Worship granted a delay for that period. .
