THE AUCKLAND AND WAIKATO MAILS.
Sib, — Although a second mail m the day has been afforded to the Waikato both ways, yet the second mail, that leaving Auckland midday and Hamilton by first train m the morning, is not made as useful as it misrht be. Why, it is asked by many, does the mail leaving Hamiltou at ten minutes to seven a.m. close at eight p.m. over night Surely the letter box might remain open all night, and not closo till a quarter past six m the morning. This would enable business men to answer their letters after business hours. Surely it is not too much to expect that the postmaster should attend for.aquaiter of an hour at' six a.m. to make up the mail, the same as is done at other places of less business importance. — I am, &c. Business. Hamilton, February 26th 1878.
