HARAPEPE.

Julylßih. The annual meeting of the ratepayers of the Pirongia District was held in the Blookh-m-e, Harapepe. on Saturday thp 14t,h ; Mr J H. Thompson, ch:iirnaa. Mr Me Minn read the minutes of the last annual meeting which wore confirmed. The accounts of the past year were then read and a long discussion ensued, as to the ratepayers bein^ at tbe expense of the survey of a road through Mr McMinn's land, as the road was not required by the' inhabitants ot the district, nor .had they boon consulted at all inihe nvitter. In fact some of the trustees seemed to know as little about it as the majority of the meeting did. It was at last settled that the new road should be allowed on condition that Mr McMinn is to be at the cost of any excess, if any (in making it), over the old road, and to refund tha cast of the survey if the road is n jt made. The accjunt3 were then passed, and following ratepayers were elected as Trustees :— Messrs Jno Mo'rrisson, D FinUys-ui. Wm Joi'don, J H Thompson, E G Mo.vlinn. Auditors, Mr D Kollo and Mr Wtn Livingston. Fence, views e, Mr H Southie, and Mr Jdß Shurret. This concluded tho business of the meeting.
