Auckland, Wednesday evening, Mr O'Rorke was elected to-day unopposed for Onehunga. Mr jtfacandrew telegraphed to Sir George Grey that his partj carry sixteen votes certain, and probably nineteen. Another letter from Kingites, urging Sir G. Grey to visit them, \»as received yesterdaySir George Grey runs with Rpbert Graham for the Thames, if elected resigns City West. lhe Hero has arrived from Sydney. London, December 20. On the demand of England the Khedive has recalled his ships from Zanzibar, and abandons encroachments on Abyssinia. Lo-d Derby disclaimed the idea of an Indian Egyptian protectorate. The African exploration expedition has arrived at loanda. Australian news is unimportant. Qhe non-arrival of the mail etoainer Colima caused much alarm. Scarlet fever is raging in Sydney. The notorious Captain Hayes has cropped up again in some fresh villanies. He took some Spanish convicts from Guam to Pellew Islands in his vessel the Arabia, and finding hiuifelf pursued cleared out and left her. It is said that some of the convicts have arrived in Sydney.
G-KAHAMSTOWN. At the nomination to-day fifteen me'mfoetis were pioposed — Grey, Togel, Sheekan, Koberfr Graham, Howe, Carpenter, .Mackay, 'Gibbons, 1 Stephenßon. a miner, and five others. -*
Taxtranga. Morris, W. Kelly, Captain Read, and Maihia were proposed for the £)ast Coast, A sh yr of hands favored Morris.
DutfEDIN At Durwfcan election Pyke polled 300 ,• Baird, 159. At Eoslyn Burns polled 233 ; Grant, 46. At Port Chalmers nomination the Hon. Mr. Reynolds and James Green were nominated. The show of hands were — Green, 42 ; Reynolds, 40- Poll demanded by Reynolds.
Lytteltov. The election concluded with the following rasult : — Murray-Annesley, 139 ; Webb (late member), 107, New Plymouth. At Grey and Bell election Carrington polled 244 ; Uonnell, 88.'
TIMAUp 1 , TJie Q-^r-aleline election resulted — Wakefield,102 * Hayhurst, 102 ;. Wilson, 44: Keturning ißcer voted for Wakefteld, and declared liiin elected.
