Mr Knox reports that at the Auction sale held this day of the freeholds and live stock of Mr J Brown, there was a very large attendance, and after spirited "bidding the following prices were realised for the principal lots. The 80 acres with house, brought £300 ; one acre iv Hamilton East, £23 ; 60 acrps in Kirikiriroa £20 ; two year old draught filly, £25 ; draught horses, £20 ; saddle horses from £6 5 cows from £3 10a to £5 103 ; th rep-Tear old flteprs, £6 7* 6d ; twoypar old, £4 2s 6d ; calves, 20* each ; dray £15 ; harness, £4 10a ; ploughs, £6 15a • harrowt, £4 ; chu"fls 455. Furniture realised fair prices. This is the largest sale that ha« been held in Hamilton for oorne time, and as the goods were sold for rash, it shews that money is getting more plontiful in the district. Th« amount realised was between 500 »nd 600 pounds.
