GEORGE GUNTHER'S DEATH
THE INQUEST. (Per United Press Association.'! : WELLINGTON, • November 3. -An inquest war. licld to-day : by Dr A: McArthur, District Coroner, touching the death of George-Gunther, who died from injuries alleged to have been caused by a blow delivered by Edward Francis Aloffitt. Chief-Detective Broberg watched’ the case on behalf of the. police, and Air A, L. Hardman appeared for Moffitt. .After hearing the evidence of the medical and other witnesses, the Coroner returned a verdict that death was caused by fracture of the skull on the left side and rupture of the middle meningeal artery on the right side, causing hemorrhage, with subsequent compression of- the brain. As far as Moffitt. was concerned, it was a case of pure misadventure. Moffitt appeared at the -Magistrate’s Court this, morning, charged with manslaughter, and was' remanded, bail being allowed in the sum of inso. ■ •; -
