THOSE DREADFUL PRINTERS!
A rather amusing story, at the cost of the Good Templars of Adelaide, is going the rounds, it is generally admitted that the night compositors in a newspaper printing office give the publicans a fair share of patronage, and in view of this, and wishing to show their disinterested earnestness ia the doctrines they preach, the British Good Templars delermincd to forcibly recommend the use of coffee to the night hands at the largest office. Accordingly the secretary forwarded a bulky package, contaiuiug Tlbsof best Mocha, with his " compliments." At first the donation was treated with disdain, but the " devil " of the establishment being of a speculative spirit, magnanimously offered to supply tvvo gallons of beer conditionally that the coffee should be transferred to him. The offer was immediately accepted, and the Good Templars have themselves to thank for adding considerably to the tendencies of the staff.
