A LOVE PASSAGE.
* 1 [iIELBOUUNB I'UNCH.] I dreamt of Fanny Loc the night before, Her image still my spell -bound fancy * bore; I loved—all yes, I loved her more and more—• My charmer. And as I thought upon her lovely face, Iler sylph-liko form and captivating grace, My passion (usual thing in such a case) Grew warmer. My peace was gone:—upon that very day 1 would the promptings of my heart obey, And -yes, I'd 'pop the question' right away To Fanny. I'd plead my ardent passion at her feet And reciprocity of love entreat, And tell her truer love she'd never meet. In any. I sauntered onward, heaving heavy sighs; A shadow came. I lifted up my eyes, And there was Fanny Leo to my surpviso Before me. At once I eloquently urged my suit (Her eyes were fixed upon her pretty foot); To life again, I said, her kindness would Restore me. I begged she would have pity on my pain And not my warm, my honest love disdain ; I urged that joy I'd never know again If banished. Her pretty mouth had such a pretty pout I paused; I hoped; anon began to doubt. She said, " I ivislt 1 hail a glass of stout \" I vanished.
