THE RUMORED DISSOLUTION OF PARLIAMENT.

There seems to be some doubt as to the correctness of -the report that a dissolution of Parliament is at once to take place. The telegram which we received was dated on Sunday

evening, and on the same date a telegram was forwarded from Wellington to the Nelson Examiner to this effect:— " A dissolution of Parliament is imminent. Governor Bowen cannot longer agree with the self-reliant policy as carried out by Government; and, urged by "Dv Featherston, will proclaim a dissolution at pnce, as Ministers decline accepting the offer of ..troops from Earl Belmore. Tin above is authoritatively stated as correct. The unauthorised expenditure now is enormous."

And on Monday evening the following telegram was forwarded to the same paper:— "Mr Pilliet states that Mr Haughton said a dissolution was agreed upon. From inquiries made, no reliance can be placed on the rumour. The G-over-nor differs in opinion with Ministers regarding troops being requested from Sydney aud Victoria; but tbia differance is not of a character sufficient to induce Ministers to tender their resignations or for a dissolution."

We notice by a Gazette of the 2nd inst., that the Council and Assembly are convened for the 26tk of February.
