WAIRAR&PA THURSDAY UNION.
A meeting of delegates of Thursday Cricket Clubs was held in the Club Hotel last evening. Present; Messrs W. G. Cargill (in the chair), and R, A Scott (Midlands), Chas. Ewington and I). Jackson (Fire Brigade), and W. Johnston and G. \V, Nicol (Excelsiors). , It was resolyed to fonn aThnrsday Crjcket 4s s( ?iiiation, the following officers being elected: President, Mr H. H. Beetham; vice-presidents, Messrs E, M. j). Whatman, C. A. Pqwnall, and Dr. Johnston (Carter: ton); secretary and treasurer, Mr W. p. pargill j management cpmmitfee, Messrs Scott, pargili, Johnston, De Lacey, Nicol, Jjaiinin, Jackson and j Kivirigton, The subscription was fixed at 10s fid for one team, or 15s for two; the colours of the association to be black and white, #lt was resolved that two rounds of "championship matches be played, and Messrs Scott, Oargilt and woro elected a Postponement Com-. niittee, their decison in the event of inclement weather to be final. Several rulos were agreed upon, j the principal of which were: "That no one can play for two Clubs in one season, unless he has obtained a transfer from his Club, and the sane-1 tion of the Committee of the Afso-| eiation"; "That if any Club play a man without a clearance, a protest may be entered, and the team thus breaking the rules disqualified from
the championship"; " That meet-1 * liigs of thtf Association can bo called j)d" a "rSjoisHiion ' s'iphed' liy ; three ilclcgates,' stating object ojineefing, ami giving seven Says' notice' ; " That all matches start at 2.30 p.m. and end at 0.30 p.m. j any team not being ready to start at 3 p.nr. to forfeit the game."
