THE BOROUGH OF CARTERTON.
TO W DIVIDED INTO WARDS. By Telegraph—(hen Correspondent, WElii.ixr.TON, Wednesday. , The Carterton Borough appears to ' bo a divided house. About threefourths of the burgesses have petitioned for its division into wards, and another three-fourths, singularly enough, have petitioned against it. How so many buigesses have suddenly been resurrected is puzzling tho heads of the Colonial Secretary's Department, but as there is no means of stopping the curving up of Boroughs once dismemberment is insisted upon, the division of the ancient Borough into wards is inevitable.
