Mi- P. H. Wood held his usual fortnightly stock sale (it the Taratahi yards yesterday and reports of tlio same as follows: -Tliero was a good attendance of buyers and bidding was brisk throughout. All the sheep which were advertised and considerably more cattle (principally dairy stock) came forward. » There was no marked difference in prices .from last sale rates. The following 'is a quotation;— Sheep: hoggets .is lOd to Ss; ewes and lambs 6s; ewes in lamb 5s fid. Cattle : calves lis to 30s; 2 year-old steers 545; empty heifers 40s to 60s; heifers springing 90s to 110s; cows, springing, 82s 6d to 1255. Pigs : slips 4s Gd to ,is ; porkers 7s to 12s (id. Horses: no demand. D.CREWE'S WEEKLY REPORT. On Tuesday, the 10th, 1 held my usual stock sale at Pahiatua. The yards were well-filled with cattle. There was a good attendance of the public. Bidding for good class of dairy cattle was brisk, other lines being somewhat neglected. 1 succeeded in quitting all yarded except some three small lines, The following prices were obtained:-Good dairy cows, £4 17s Gd to 16 10s; second-class cows, £3 17s fid to £4 ss; inferior, £2lßs to £3 7s (Jd; dry cows, £2l7s (id to £3 ss; yearling -heifers,£22s6d to £2l7s(kl; 18F month heifers, £3 to £3 12s Cd; a good line of weaners 325; yearling steers, 37s 6d and £2 2s; young pigs, os 6d. The whole proved a satisfactory sale for the vendors, On Saturday, the 14th, t held my usual weekly produce and miscellaneous sale at the mart. There was a good attendance of the public. The trees offered did not attract much competition; most of them were sent away unsold. The poultry and produce met with fair competition, and were cleared at tho following prices :—Fowls, 2s 4d and 2s Gd per pair; ducks, 3s; potatoes, eating, 4s Id to 4s fid per sack; other lots, £2 17s per ton; seed potatoes, 'ls fid to 6s 3d per cwt; ham, Gd per lb; bacon, 5d per lb. The old lines of goods were quitted at satisfactory prices. During the week the demand for produce has been a little more active, many small lines being quitted at last week's quotations. I also placed during the week two lines of yearlings and 18-month old steers at £2 8s per head. k I have euquiries for young cattle, " also good dairy cows near calving. My next horse sale takes place on Saturday, tho 24th, foi which I am now receiving entries.
