FROZEN MEAT CONFERENCE AT WELLINGTON.

By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Friday. Tho Conference was resumed at 10 o'clock. After further discussion tho second clause in Mr B egg's series of resolutions, affirming the desirability of a uniform system of grading was canied on the voices. The third clause, to the effect that the storage accommodation the Colony should be increased, in erto regulatosupplies, was carried without discussion, Mr Orbell's proposals were then considered. The first resolution for the appointment of a permanont Committee to watch the interests of the trade was agreed to, as also was the second • clause, urging the appointment of Inspectors of slaughter-houses to examine tho sheep before being killed. The third proposal that the Government should assist in the erection of cool stores at the various ports was lost by a very large majority. Mr Orbell moved and Mr Coleman Phillips seconded "That with the view to the concentration of the trade in Great Britain, it is desirable that the distribution of our meat should be placed in the hands of as few agents as possible, and this Conference strongly recommends the Freezing Companies and others' interested to give effect to this resolution aB far as practicable." This was agreed to.

jhflt was decided to approaoh the government and urge that the month of January be substituted for tho present date, in making up sheep iotas.
