Hornblow it Co., auctioneers ami produce merchants, report prices as follows for week eliding August 3rd : —Business seems more re-assuring and a larger amount done during the week than forsomotimc past. Produce remains linn at our quotations. Our miscellaneous auction sales lmvc been well attended'and there seems a disposispend more freely. Poultry is in good demand and fetching exceptionally high prices. The demand for good hack and harness horses shews an improvement and our weekly liorse sale on Saturday drew a large attendance of buyers and most of the entries were quitted at reserve prices. In land, wo have several clients, including some' from the South Island in search of good leasehold and freehold farms. In town properties there is little or nothing doing. Oar prices are as follows :—Hggs lOd per doz; butter 9d per lb. Poultry—Fowls 2s 3d to 2s l)d per paii | ducks from -Is to (is; geese 4s I'd; turkeys 6s. Produce—Oats '2s to 2s 3d; oaten sheaf 3s per bag; straw Is 3d; potatoes, table, Cs to 7s per sack, Fruit—Oranges realised by auction 3s 2d to 4s Gd per case.
