LATEST PAHIATUA NEWS.
By Tekgrtiph.—Oicn Corrcspmnlnil. Pahiatca, Monday. The Pabiatua County Council met on Saturday, but no business of special importance was transacted. In the junior enp contest on Saturday, P.ihiatua second defeated Tutaekara second, and won the H&mpionship. The linal for the ISnior championship, takes place on Saturday next, at Ekefaliiina, between Pahiatua and Eketahuna, In response to a requisition, the Mayor has called a public meeting for Wednesday evening next, (o consider matters in connection with the erection of the bridge over the Jlangaiainoka river.
The ordinary meeting of the Borough Council, takes place this evening, when tenders will be received for the erection of the extension of the bridge. There is a good deal of feeling over this matter, and the Borough Council is divided into two sections. The public meeting will settle the matter definitely.
