AKITIC ROAD BOARD.

ORDINARY MEETING. A meeting of the Board was held on Thursday last, Present, Messrs Armstrong, Burling, Foreman and Speedy. In tho absenco of Mr Handyside, Mr Armstrong was voted to the tanir. ri'he minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Correspondence was read from the Land Tax Department re sudsidy. From County Engineer re No. 4 and 5 contracts, Aohanga V. Road. From C, J. Johnston re land disposed of at Mataikuna. From W. F. Harding re rates overduo and claiming a reduction. From Auditor • General with balance sheet certified to. From C. F. Johnston and others applying for a grant to be expended on tho To Nui Valley Road, The application of Mr Johnston and others was allowed to stand over until next meeting. Resolved that the Commissioner of Crown Lands be applied to for the names of the occupiers of the sections in the several Special Settlements in ■the East I'uketoi. A general rate of a half-penny in tho £ was agreed to for the current Wonders wore considered f.pr No, 4 and 5 contracts, Aohanga V. R<s4 as follows: B. Calloty, £650 (accepted) > ■declined —P.
