From Our Own Correspondent, Wednesday. The coneart in aid of the Wosloyan Church last Monday evening was well attended, although there was a counter attraction on. All the pieces were well rendered, all tho items being well received. Mrlt.Y. Shearer as conductor, deserves much praise for tho way in which ho •• worked the affair up. Miss Eva Udy acted as organist. Several singers came from Carterton to take part, and altcgcthor the concert wasU musical treat. The proceeds will f& devoted to the purchase of a neir organ.

The Kennedy - Lucas Company gave a performance in the Palace Hall the samo evening, and drow a, good house, Each item wasapplauded and everyone appeared thoroughly j satisfied with the cntertainmeat. A portion of tho north end of. Main Street is being motalled.
