Mr D, Crowe reports as follow : During the week enquiries for produce and Btock have boon more active than for some time. We have placed sevoral lines of lambs pti- •« vately, direct fr»m farmers at 2s 9d to 4s 6d ; also lines of produce at last weeks quotations. On Saturday, the 18th, I hold my ordinary horse salo at Pahiatua, There was a good entry, the class being mostly good, and certainly looked well, considering the season of the year. There was a good attendance of tho public. Bidding throughout was slack, failing m reach owners'prices. Most of tKL horses were turned away unsold." ( Two second hand traps wore sold at £9 and £12105.. Hacks £4los to£s. At tho produce sale I succeeded in quitting every line offered at tho following prices: Onions, interior,*; 'good jd to Idj potatoes, odd lots, 4sibd to 5s per sack; good sample, so per ton.
I bavo enquiries for poultry; also for woolly lambs.
