KENNEDY-LUCAS COMPANY.

" EAST LYME."

flio Kennedy-Lucas Company cored another success at the Maserton Theatre Royal last evening, then the drama founded on Mrs {onry Wood's famous novel " East jynno " was exceedingly well proceed. This piece seems to have a larticular attraction for the gentler ex, and they wore well represented n last night's audience. Although lie piece has been played in Masteron before, it is safe to say it has .ever been produced so well, or been eceived so enthusiastically as ust night. During some of the more motional passages, which were odeed painfully realistic, there was lardly a dry eye in the house, and he audience preserved a breathless ileucotill thefall of the curtain. The irincipal character-Lady Isabel—f hoaftenvards appoars as" Madame fine" was takon by Miss Liila Vilde, who gavo auotlior vary fine xhibition of her powerasan actress; nd from the opening scene till he fall of the curtain, played her iart with grace and earnestness, lever over-doing anything, but iways acting to the life. Mr Libert Lucas was a success as Irohibald Carlyle, while as bis istor "Miss Cornelia," Miss Lilly fill was simply perfection, and the iart conld not have been in better landj. Mr P. Norton, as " Sir p ranois Lorison," appeared to advauago, the remaining characters being ihrad as follows:—" Justico Hare," frJ. S, Montgomery; " Lord Mount Severn," Mr J. J. Kennedy; Richard Hare," Mr J. Maiiville; Sergeant Bullock," Mr C. R Hill; Collector," Mr P. Creyton; Pit-on," Mr W. Sedger; " Jacques," ir W. JJ. Williams ; J' Willie Jarlylo," Little Ruby Kennedy; ' ' Barbara Hare," Miss Grace Bulbar ;" Joyce," Miss Mabel Jackson; ' Wilson," Miss Kate Hayes; " Suzanne," Miss Florence Lloyd, Bach of the above acted capably, care i having evidently been taken in the '• soloction of the parts. To-night is the '■ last night but one of the season, and the piece to bo staged is the celebrated comedy " David Garriek."
