D. CREWE'S WEEKLY REPORT
On Tuesday, the 2nd, I held my usual stock sale at Pahiatua, Considerably more stock was yarded than advertised, and there was a good attendance of the public. I consider tbc bidding was sound throughout, except for two lines, but owing to the high reserves placed on the stock the greater portion of it was turned away unsold. The class of dairy stock yarded was first-class, » r and the fat bullocks were very fair. A The following prices were realised: *nf —Dairy heifers, springing, £4Jlss to £5; heifers, iu calf, £3 2s 6d to £6 7s 6d j dairy cows, £3 15s to £i 2s 6d; 18-month old steers, £2l3s; forward steers, or plain beef, £4 8s; calves, 8s 6d. On Saturday, the 6th, a produce Bale at the Marl was held, and the consignments wore small ones. There was a good attendance of tho public, which resulted iu a clearance being effected of all unsold lots. Tho demand appears to be iucmsing for good qualities of produce and poultry,
Tbo following prices were realised: —Onions, fd to l}d; potatoes, £2 17s 6d to £3 2s 6d; carrots, 3s per sack.
