PROHIBITION.
The Prohibition Convention at Wellington yesterday agreed " Ttiiit the Convention strongly protests against the culpably negligent manner in which the licensing laws arc being administered, and culls fun the authorities to enforce these laws in a tirm, just and impartial manner."
"That a deputation from this Convention, ccnsistinp of those insured in the temperance suction of the Government Life Insurance Depaitment, wait upon the Commissioner to discuss iliu proposed double endowment insurance scheme in its lehitioH to total abstainers."
A deputation was appointed to wait upon the Minister of Hducation to urgo upon him "thedesirableness of arranging for a place on the school syllabus being found for scientific temperance instruction." The Convention then closed, with rotes of thanks to those who had entertained delegates coming from a distance, and to (lie minister and trustees of the eliuieh for the use of the bnilding. Afterwards for nearly three hours yesterday afternoon the members of the Temperance Convention claimed the time and attention of the Premier and the Hon Jfr Keeves During the interview.
