EVISON'S CONFESSION.

In Ills confession Evison says : " lii March 18821 was walking with a girl named Jenny, whom I had picked up in tlio street, about three weeks previous. I had a few words about seeing her with anothor yonng man. Sho hit me in the faco and I gave her a push and she foil on her head on a stone coping at the edge of tho footpath and then rolled into the river Trent. Tho coping wis built right up from tho river and formed a promenade close to the Nottingham Trent Bridge, It was dark and' I saw her strike tho water and float down the river about six yards She was struggling in the water. I then 'came from tho end of the bridge on the road. I scarcely knew what to do and wenfcover Die bridge and then came back anil went home and never heard any more about it. 1 was in a passion at the lime. I did not know the girl other than as "Jenny."
