Increased grants have boon made to fbe various schools, etc., and the sum of £IOO has been voted towards the erection of a Grandstand in the Park. The surrender of the lease of the Drill Hall (with f acre of laud) lias been purchased at a cost of £l3O, payment of which has left a debit balance of £l3 15s 6d on the Scholarship Account,but this account will shortly be again in credit from the rents coming in. The question of establishing classes in connection with the schools for technical education, is now under the consideration of your Trustees, lour Trustees have decided to set aside the sum of£soo,accuiiiulations of rent as the nucleus for a Town Hall fund. Through the resignation of Mr Lett—owing to his leaving the district-there will bo three vacant seats to be h'lledat the annual election on Thursday, May 30th, Messrs Feist and Daniell being the retiring Trustees, who, however, are eligible for re-election."
