CAPTAIN JACKSON BARRY AT MASTERTON.
A fair audience assembled at the Temperance Hall, Mastorton, last evening, to hear Captain Jackson Barry's lecture, the chair being occupied by Mr A. W. Hogg, M.H.R. The veterau Colonist gave a brief sketcli of his remarkable career from earliest boyhood, recounting many startling incidents " by flood and Held," and on sea and laud. He also dealt with the celebrated Tichbome case, at some length, in the course of his remarks, stating that the real Arthur Orton had worked for him, and was not the claimant as many supposed. The latter part of Captain Barry's address was devoted to an account of the wonderful mineral resources of the King Country, and his belief that precious metals exist toe in large quantities, At anyBe the Captain has sufficient faith to again start on a prospecting tour of the hitherto forbidden land, in spite of his years, and we heartily wish him success,
