CRICKET.
. 1 EAST COAST v. W.F.C.A. A very interesting cricket match, which attracted a large number of spectators, was played on the Park Oval yesterday, between a combined up-country team and the local representatives of tko W.F.C.A. The visitors after a two innings match proved to be the winners by 36 runs. The scoring of both teams was very small, the pitch being greatly in favor of the trundlers. The principal players for the winners were Johnstone, Jlerddith, Austin, Owen, and Elder, whilst those who did moat work for the Farmers were Hansen, Hawke and Richards. The country team made 35 and 41 in their first and second innings, Austin 10, Elder 10, Johnstone 15, and Nitz 12, being the highest scorers. Hansen bowled splendidly, making a record of nine wickets for eleven runs, The Farmers responded with 28 and 25, the bowling of Meredith, Austin, Johnston, and Elder taking the wickets in fine style. Meredith's average was 4 for 10, Austin's 5 for 18, Elder's for 3, and Johnston's 5 for 9,
