Messrs R, E, Hornblow and Co,, auctioneers and produce mcrcli»nts, report as follows for the week ending Saturday, March 30th, So far ns produce is concerned, we regret being unable lo report any advance in prices, and with oie or two exceptions, last week's quotations hold good for this week; That it is unlikely there will a rise in oats for some time, may bo gleaned from the fact that two or three large Welling, ton houses hare offered to land us the Masterton railway station od and Is 7d. Potatoes are much about the 6ame with a likelihood of a further fall. Poultry is in fair demand. Grass seeds are now in good demand, and with the exception of cocksfoot, satisfactory prices are obtained. Our horse bazaar on Saturday was a big «uccess, the attendance of buyers being Tery large and the greater portion of the entries disposed of. Onr property department keeps up the average, the most noticeable feature being the demand for leasehold small farm properties. For these we have more applicants than we can supply. We quote wholesale prices as follows : Eggs, Is per dozen. Butter, od per lb. Poultry: Fowls, Is 9d to2s6d; ducks, 3s Id; turkeys, 5s to 6s per pair.
Oats, Is 7d to Is lid; oaten sheaf, 2s& 2s 2d per bag; chaff, le 2d. Ttyatoea, £2lss to £3los, accord, to quality. Onions, Id to Hd per lb, Horses: light backs from £& 10s to £l2; light draughts, £ll to £l3; harness do varying from £5 to £9 10s.
Traps and drays realised £8 to £l2 for the former, and £0 to £ls for latter; several sets of harness and saddles were sold at prices in favor of buyers.
