MASTERTON ROAD BOARD.

MONTHLY MEETING. The usual monthly meeting of tho Masterton Road Board was held on Saturday last. Present—Messrs Cameron (chairman), McKonzie, Holmos, Stuckey and Harris. Tho minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. Accounts amounting to £65 7s 3d wero recommended for payment. Mr H. Campbell waited on the Board with reference to his claim for removing fencing on the Te Mara Road, It was resolved, that the Board does not see its way to grant Mv Campbell more than 7s 6d per chain, the amount recommended by tho Engineer. Mr Campbell complained that the stuff thrown out from tho road through his property, had buried the fence for about lj chains, and he wished it removed, Also, that a 6tump from the road had fallen on and injured his fence. Resolved that a man be sent to clear the fence and repair tho broken wiie complained of, The Clerk was directed to make enquiries regarding the ownership of section 76, Block XI., Miki Miki, The Engineer's report was read and adopted. A motion to the effect that tho ranger be instructed not to impound cattle or horses, which may be on the roads under the Board's jurisdiction, between the hours of 6 a.m. and 5 p.m., during the months of April was withdrawn. The action of the Chairman in authorising a man to clear the watertables on the Kaka-amn road to the extent of £G was approved, and also 24s for cartage of metal. The meeting then adjourned.
