TENUI v. LANGDALE.

(From Our Own Correspondent). The return cricket match, Langj dale v. Tenui, was played on Sat- , urday last in Mr Maunsell's paddock, which he kindly lent for the occasion. . In spite of the windy weather there was a good attendance of spectators, who Beemed to take great interest in the game. A capital wicket had been prepared, which played true throughe oat tho match. Owen, captain of the e home team, won the toss, and decided - to send his men to the wickets. F. ? Johnston and R. Owon soon got to ' work, and succeeded in knocking up ■ twenty before the latter was caught r for a well played 10. J. Owen then joined Johnston, who was playingthe bowling freely, and soon rattled up 16, whon he was bowled by Austin. I F. Nicholls filled the vacancy, and saw Johnston caught splendidly by Reid off Austin, for a capitally played 25. None of the other batsmen, except E. Nicholls 16, and F, ' Nicholls 14, gaye any trouble, and II the innings closed for 100. The wind, 3 which had been blowing a gale, dropped a good deal, when Langdale • wont in, but the bowling of F. John ' ston and Joplin was too good for the i batsmen to take any liberties, and 1 they were soon disposed of for 38, ' Elder being the principal scorer with i 22, which he made in splendid style. 1 At the follow on the visitors passed * their first score by 17, Austin being ' top scorer with a nseful 18. Tenui ' thus won by an innings and seven runs. F. Johnston and Joplin bowled 1 well throughout the match. Austin and Elder bowled well for the losers. The fielding of both teams waß very good. J, Owen was in good form behind tho wickets. Full scores!
