SIMMS & MOWLEM'S STOCK SALE REPORT.
Messrs Siimns and Mowlem held their usual fortnightly stock sale in the yards yesterday (Wednesday), the stock yarded both in sheep and cattle was largely in excess of the entries, and the qualities as a rule were exceptionally good. Every pen in the sheep yards wtre filled to the full extent, the attendance of buyers was large and bidding under'the hammer was the most spirited wo have had through the season, every line of sheep with the exception of a few pens were disposed of under the hammer, and all but one pen changed hands at the following prices :—Fat bullocks £5 5s to £5 17s b'd ; fat heifers, £4 to £4 10s; two-year-old steers, £3 to £3 as; three-year-old £4 to £4 ss; dairy cows, 90s; calves, 15s to 20s; fat wethers, 7s Id ; 2-tooth wethers, 6s fid ; small, os to 5s fid ; small hogget ewes, 3s fid to 4s; breeding ewes, 3s 3d to 4s fid ; aged ewes. 2s fid to 3s!)d; culls, Is 2d to 2s fid; lambs, 8d for culls to 4s; pigs, stores. 16s; weaners, 9s; horses, hacks in better demand, £5 12s fid to £7 17s fid; rams, Lincolns, 10s to 21s; Roniney half-guinea to 21s; Cotswolds, lis; Shropshire Downs, 10s.
