Messrs Lowes and lorns report the bidding under the hammer, at the above Fair, to have been dull throughout. Purchasers held back.
no doubt, with the expectation that would reduce the reserves, in some cases they did, but several vendors, for whom the firm were acting, held strictly to their values. A fair amount of business was done I .;,by us privately, at payable prices, but the sale must be classed as the dullest ever held in the District.
