A MURDEROUS PLOT.
SENSATIONAL AFFAIR IN SYDNEY. (Recoived February 8, 0.45 a.m.) Sydxky, February 7. A man namod Homy Boyd lias boon committed for trial on two charges of inciting Oharlos Roylance to murder a woman named Dolly Jones and Henry Dempsey, her adopted father and guardian, under sensational circumstances,
Roylance, in giving evidence, deposed that recently the accused came to him, and said that the girl Jones would shortly have £2OO coming to her; and ho proposed that they go to her house, and while Boyd got Dempsev out of the way, Roylance should stun the girl and throwJftr into a water hole, I
Dempsey, it was suggested, should bo subsequently troated in a similar manner,
Precautions were, it is alleged, to be taken to make it appear as if tho death of tho victims had rosulted from suicide.
Roylance was to receive one-third of the amount realised from the two estates.
After gaining possession of all tho details of this horrible schome, Roylance informed the police of Boyd's proposals.
Dempsoy gavo in detail a number of business transactions lie had had with the accused, with whom he was on friendly terms; and preparations wore in progress for Boyd to draw up wills of both Miss Jones and himself.
It was so arranged, Dempsey stated, that Boyd should net as guardian to the girl in tho event of anything happening to the witness.
