MEETING OF STEWARDS.

A meeting of Stewards of the W.1i.0, was held at tho Empire Hotel, Fcatherston, on Saturday afternoon, there being presentMessrs W. E Bidwill (Chairman), W. J. Nix, C. R, Bidwill, S. Roynolds, W. 0. Williams, R. Bright F. Pearce, A. M. Wilkinson, and Jos Cnndy, Tho minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The following correspondence was received:— From the Greytown Brass Band, stating that the band could not play for the Easter meeting at tho price of £9 for the two meetings; but that they would do so for £l2.—lt was resolved to accept their offer. From W. McKenzio, stating that he had entered the revised weights in the books of the last meeting, and that he would look to them for payment.—lt was resolved to refer Mr McKenzic to Mr J, Crawford, who had the books. It was resolved to advertise in the samo papers as for the Summer Meeting, The following tender was received and accepted, from T. Lawry and Jos. Tockor for lillingin two culverts on the racecourse £3O for first hole, £7O for second,

It was resolved to face the lilling-in with concrete walls instead of timber. It was resolved to get Mr Stewart, the Road Hoard's engineer, to lay oft' and properly peg the new training track, and to call for tenders and have it put in thorough working order. The Secretary was instructed to write to Mr Crawford, of Wellington, and enquire of him what his charges would be for using his starting machine, This concluded the business of the meeting.
