FEATHERSTON ROAD BOARD.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) Tlie usual monthly meeting of the Board Board was held on Saturday Present: Wardens A. Matthews, (Chairman), Jas Donald, W. E. Bidwill, W. J. Nix, E. Harris and Jas. McLeod. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The Treasurer's statement showed a gross overdraft of £l'24G ss7d; and a net overdraft of £826 as 7d. Accounts amounting to £195 were passed for payment. The Clerk reported that Mr Mc(riiiuuess had forfeited his deposit for not starting with the Western Lake Road; and that on presenting tho cheque it had been returned.

It was resolved that Mr hard should be instructed to take proceedings against McGuinness for the recovery of the amount. It was resolved that the Collector should take proceedings forthwith for the recovery of outstanding rates. Leave of absence was granted to Mr Stewart, the Board's Engineer. Mrßidwill asked the Board to grant their engineer permission to lay off the new training track at Tauherenikau—lt was resolved to grant permission. Mr Jas. Donald asked the Board's permission fortheEiigineerto survey and lay off sections in the Cemetery, —lt was resolved tograntthe desired permission. The following tenders were received for GO chains formation and delivery 500 cubic yards of metal on Western Lake Road; and 87 chains formation and delivery 600 cubic yards of metal on Kahuautara-Lower Valley Boad. Western Lake Road: H. R. Burgess, 2s per cubic yard metalling, 12s per chain for formation, Is 3d per foot carting and laying pipes; K. Kelly, Is lid percubicyard metalling, 15s 6d per chain formation, £3los carting and laying pipes, It was resolved that this matter should he left in the hands of the Chairman and Engineer. Kahautara-Lower Valley Road: H. R. Burgess, Is lid percubicyard metal, 10s per chain formation; E. Kelly, 2s 2d per cubic yard metal, 14s 6d per chain formation; T. Lawry, 2s per cubic yard metal, 12s 6d per chain formation; W. R, Goodrich (accepted), Is 10id per cubic yard metal, 9s 3d per chain formation; T. Greenaway, 2s 3d per cubic yard metal, 8s per chain forIniation.

The Engineer's report was read and adopted. It was resolved to call tenders to metal that part of Woodside road from the Station to the road. The requirements of wardens being taken the meeting terminated,
