The Masterton Town Lauds Trustees made a blunder iu attempting to convert that shedifice, the Drill Hall, into aTheatre; but fortunately the mistake has only cost the public ten pounds, and the experience they have gained, is worth all the money. Mr Vile's fuvther proposal, to obtain legislative power to raise money for tlio erection cf a suitable building, has our hearty support. The town needs such a building, and there is no valid reason why the Town Lands Trust should not supply the requirement. We have always been in favour of a Town Hall constructed of brick, and if we mistake not, the Chairman of the Trust, also would like to sec a building of such a character erected. The difficulty in the way, is by no means insnrmountI able, and we hope I o see the Trustees working together to overcome
