Tim Bailway Department has undertaken to convey school-children from the Wairarapa to )Vollingtou, and nee reran, at eighteen pence each, andii monster excursion, on these terms, will shortly be arranged. We are indebted to Mr A. W. Hogg for the suggestion, that when the country children go to town, Wcllingtonians should pay them a little attention, by chartering a steamer for a run round the harbour, and that when town children come into the country, settlers here should reciprocate, by driving tlieni out to picturesque localities. We hope to see this excellent idea carried out, as wo understand, that in past years, in a neighboring Colony, it has been practiced for the mutual benefit of both town aud country,
