FRPZEN MEAT TRADE.
(By Telegraph—Press Association). IkveecakgiliL, Saturday. The annual report of the Southland Frozen Meat Company, states:— " That the loss on the year's operations amounted to £16,579 which added to £3,101, brought forward from the previous year, makes the debit balance £10,680. This disastrous result is almost entirely due to the loss arising from realization in London of the Company's purchases of meat at a time when the market was glutted, and when prices ruled lower than had been known since tho initiation of the trade. In the A. face of this deficiency it is impossible to cany on, unless satisfactory arrangements can bo made regarding finances. Negotiations are proceeding but in the meantime the works remain closed. The balance sheet shows that tho overdraft to the Bank of N.Z. amounts to £22,258, while the total uncalled capital is £6,105,
