Mastertok, Monday. Messrs R. E. Hornblow and Co., auctioneers and produce merchants, report as follows for week ending February 2nd. Tho condition of the produce mar- • ' ket for the week shows little alteration. In oats very little business is doing. Buyers knowing there is an exceptionally large quantity to be put into the market are reluctant to pur- ,■. chase heavily at present rates, The wheat market remains at our last quotations. . Chaff has fallen in price. The potato crop being • larger than usual has overdone every of keeping up good prices, •48 and growers will have to come down much lower in their quotations. In ■ grass seed it is difficult, as yet to quote fair prices. Butter remains t at last week's quotation and eggs have advanced. Poultry show a tendency to go np. Rabbit and sheep skinß are unaltered. Fruit of every description is very low, in fact does not pay to pick in some cases. Stock is still falling in price, with every prospect of it doing so for sorno time to come. The demand for properties still continues and was most marked in town sections and houses laafc week, our firm being successful inplacingno less than£9oo worth in three days. We have several lines still under offer and which we hope to complete this week. We quote Butter, sdper lb; eggs, 8d per dozen. , Apples 2s 6d pet* case; plums, Id to'2dpei'lb. Fowls, 2s 6d per pair; ducks, 2s j 7dj geese,3s3d; turkeys,7s. jftf Pigs, weaners 4s 9d to 5s 6d each. ■ W Oats: ls7d to Is lid per bushel, Chaff: Oaten sheaf, 1b 3d to Is 6d; chaff, Is Id to Is 3d. Potatoes: £4 2s 6d per ton. Rabbit skins: 3|d to Cd per lb. Sheepskins: 2dto 3d per lb, Horseß: Draughts, £11; lightharnesß, £6 to £10; hacks, 30s to £7; traps, £4. to £7.
