EAST COAST SPORTS.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) The annual Bast Coast Sports took place at Homewood on New Year's Day, and favoured with fine weather for the greater part of the day, passed off very successfully, A thunderstorm in the afternoon spoilt to a certain extent what would otherwise have been a perfect day, The officials worked assiduously to keep things going merrily, Mr BU> Ferrers being noticeably prominent in keeping the ball rolling, and a perfect general in organising the children's races.
After going through a lengthy programme, the gathering dispersed, but not before giving hearty cwb for Mr and Mrs Tatham, to vflnm the Club are largely. indebted for placing a ground at their disposal, and very ably engineering tho commisariat department. Mr Tatham, junr., made an excellent Hon. Sec. Following is a brief summary of the principal events: ■- Orange Competition. Waipuka 1 Reid 2 Foot Race, 220 yds.
