FEATHERSTON NOTES.
(From Our Own Correspondent). Monday. On Friday afternoon a man who, was the worse for drink wanted to 1 board tho down train, and being re-j fused he sat dewn by tho Post Office, and as ho would not " move on" he was taken to tho lock-up by our guardian _ of the peace, like tho immortal Pickwick, in a wheelbarrow. OnSaturday morning ho was brought up bofore Mr. J. G. Cox, J.P., and let off with a caution. On Saturday afternoon the match between Featherston and Greytown Ist eleven, was 'witnessed by a good number of spectators, Tho game resulted in a wiu for the home team, the scores being Greytown 43, Featherston 68. Though Featherston was playing 15 men the game was even ero tho twelfth man went in. Rowse, for Greytown, made top score with 24, and A. Beunett for Featherston with 23. Sussex made a splendid average of nine overs for five runs,
