Wairarapa North County Council.

Finance Committee,

A meeting of the Finance Committce of the Council was held today. Present, Crs Mannsell, Smith, and Cockburn-Hood. Cr Maunsell was elected Chairman of tlio Committee for the ensuing year, The Treasurer reported as follows: L.13.L, account, cr., £8371 Is; general account, dr., £987 13s: nett credit, £2890 Bs,

The receipts since last meeting were £2743 14s sd, including subsidy £244 7s 4d and £2OO first part of the loan for Saunder's road. Accounts amounting to £136116s 9d were recommended for payment. On the motion of Cr Smith, seconded by the Chairman, it was resolved to apply for ten per cent, on the £3,222 loan for Saunders Hoad as the amount originally raised will be insufheient to complete tho works contemplated. It was also resolved to recommend tho Council to apply to the Governraenfc for the grant of £4OO for constructing a bridge over tho Tiraomea River at Napior's crossing.
