ST. MATTHEW'S CLUB.

Annual Meeting. The annual meeting of tho above Club was held in the Anglican Schoolroom on Tuesday evening, when a large number of young men were present, The Rev A, 0, Yorko occupied the chair.

The minutes of the previous meetiug wero read by the Secretary, Mr H, R, Bagge, anil confirmed. The Treasurer, Mr TV, H, Jackson, reported a credit balance of £8 14s Id, in addition to a considerable amount of Club property and apparatus in band, The balance sheet was adopted as read.

It was proposed and carried by a [majority bt members present that j the subscription be raised from twoand six to five shillings. It was also proposed and carried .that those members of the Club.in arrears must within one month pay such subscriptions in arrear before becoming eligible for re-election.

A notice of motion from tho last meeting, held a fortnight ago," that before a candidate becomes eligible for election, he must be proposed and seconded by members of the Club, which motion must he agreed to by a majority of members present at a meeting held for such purpose," was put to the meeting and carried.. - i

The old rules of the Club were then revised and several new ones added, •
