One would have thought that tolara being very plentiful in this district ten ■ years back, tho Hoard would have had the structure creeled with the more durable timber. The stringers required are of 30 feel lengths, and to procure them now of tile thickness required will be a very expensive affair.

There are requisitions for road ami bridge repairs from all parts of the district just now, after the wet winter, but there are no available funds, except just for patching, with which settlers have to be content, unless they prefer to 1 specially rate themselves. The Board's overdraft; is now reduced to £Bl2, a lower figure than it has reached 'for. many a month.
