Four Persons Injured oh d Switchback Railway.

Ciimstcjiuhch, Sunday. A shocking accident liapponcd on the Switchback liaikay last night. The railway had only been opened on Thursday, and appeared to work smoothly till the time of the accident. It appears that the automatic switch failed to act, and allowed an empty car to run on to the line on which a car full of people was running. Both vehicles were smashed to atoms, and four occupants so seriously injured that they had to bo taken to tlio' hospital. These arc; Beatrice Thompson, a young woiuau, with a compound comminuted fracture of the left leg, and a comminuted fracture of the right leg, Morris Williams, John Pearson, aud Ernest Whitting, three youths, with a broken leg each. The other occupants escaped with minor injuries. ■
